关于作者：

José María Maza Sancho  (Valparaíso, 1948) has a degree in Astronomy from the University of Chile and a PhD in Astronomy from the University of Toronto.

He has published more than one hundred and twenty research articles in astronomy journals and is currently a full professor of Astronomy at the University of Chile. He obtained the National Prize for Exact Sciences in 1999 and is a member of the Chilean Academy of Sciences. He is the author of  Supernovas (2008) together with Mario Hamuy, Contemporary Astronomy (2009), Mars: the next frontier (2018) and Eclipses (2019).
