冰冻圈就像过去一样，是我们未来的关键。
 
「冰冻圈」 （Cryosphere）一词源於希腊语，涵盖了冰川丶积雪和永久冻土等地球表层的冰冻部分，它既是气候系统的重要组成部分，也是气候变化最为敏感和明显的证据。

Bjørn Vassnes是挪威Finnmarksvidda北极高原的在地人，那里是地球上最寒冷地方之一。他本身也是挪威首屈一指的科学记者，曾荣获不少国内外的写作奖，包括Fritt Ord Honorary Award 和 Golden Pen。 此外，还担任挪威主要日报《Klassekampen》的科学专栏作家，并撰写过几本畅销书籍，以及制作过科学和环境主题相关的电视节目。
