《具体派》是第一本以英文写成，检视日本知名当代艺术流派的书，一群战后艺术家的前卫画作、表演及装置艺术在许多方面都对美国及欧洲的实验艺术发展带来的重要的影响。
 
Ming Tiampo 研究过去从未出版过的照片与档案资源，他认为具体派有开创性的跨国实践；本世纪中叶大众媒体与旅游的发展，促成了这个流派在全世界都得到接纳并带来影响。作者Tiampo 利用传播路径为具体派在当代艺术实践中求得一席之地，同时追溯日本在艺术方面对欧洲与美国的影响，Tiampo诠释了现代主义的基本跨国性。最后，Tiampo为全球艺术历史的书写提供了一个全新的概念框架，他将具体派成为当代艺术史上一个重要且原创的伟大贡献。
