很少人愿意讨论伊娃，但是作者终于访问到一些愿意开口的目击者，打破70多年的沉默。伊娃的故事终于被透露，这个天真无邪的19岁犹太女孩曾经充满梦想以及希望，结果被战争的政治而击败。她在1944年的夏天被她的反抗团队领导逼自杀，这群团队都是年轻有志气的匈牙利少年。他们在森林里逃避纳粹，而他们的领导Imre Lipstik之后改名为Imre Lakatos最后成为一位知名的数学家以及哲学家。邪恶的他本来应该保护伊娃的，没想到最后竟然是他逼伊娃自杀，当作他们的牺牲品。
2006年的1月，哲学家Imre Toth告诉作者Januaria这个悲惨故事。到最后，他告诉作者“他们会阻止你写下这个故事。真相太令人不舒服了。但是，你必须告诉所有愿意听的人。”那一天，Imre给了作者一份书稿，叫做“The Monument of Words and Tears for Eva”，帮助作者写出这个故事。作者等了好几年才开始动笔，因为真相真的太令人难过了。多年后她才开始研究资料、调查背景。
关于作者：
Januaria Piromallo出生于意大利那波里。她是一位作者、记者以及部落格作家。她为许多报刊杂志撰写文章，并在Il Fatto Quotidiano线上版本有自己的专栏。
