Born in Riva del Garda, Sara Fruner graduated in English at Ca ‘Foscari, and specialized in literary translation from English at the Istituto Superiore Interpreti e Translatori in Milan and at Ca’ Foscari. For some years she worked in publishing, dealing with postcolonial literature and translating authors such as Dionne Brand, Monique Truong, Sello Duiker, and Don McKay. Fruner’s articles have appeared in The Voice of New York, CinematoGraphie, Warehouse 23, and Brick. She collaborates as a translator and performer with the Magazzino Italian Art Foundation and the Center for Italian Modern Art. She is a member of the Authors Guild and of PEN America Women. She has written three collections of poetry: Bitter Bites from Sugar Hills and saw the light in English in 2018; Lucciole in palmo alla notte, in Italian, in 2019.
