＊故事设在意大利出名的Lake Como（科莫河），女主角是警察局长
除了环境保护论者以及房地产建商之间的争议之外，这些在湖边的山上小镇生活其实非常平静。当然，那个位于意大利以及瑞士界线上的小镇会有警察参入走私以及其他非法活动，但是也就只有这样。于是，当一座尸体被发现，所有人都完全无法想像，当地警察局的局长Stefania Valenti本人也不知所措。
尸体被发现在湖边，死者是一位二次世界大战的德国军人。警方开始调查后，便发现他们当地的山区历史其实跟二次世界大战有相当重要，却很少人知道的关系：许多犹太家族被逼逃离，而他们这些小镇正是许多战斗以及屠杀的场地。当时这里住了许多纳粹、间谍、消息告知者以及盖世太保。
在这里的许多家族都有不为人知的秘密，他们多年来一直保持沉默，而在这同时，Stefania更爱上了一位年轻环境保护论者，他们之间的年龄差别更让一切变得复杂。
关于作者：
两位作者是一对夫妻以及写作搭档。Giovanni Cocco之前写过 Angeli a perdere”(Disposable Angels, No Reply, 2004) 以及Genesi (Genesis, Nutrimenti, 2013)。Amneris Magella是一位法庭病理学家。
