Guido Damini (b. 1995) is an Italian historian, writer, and podcaster known for turning the messiness of the past into sharp, laugh-out-loud storytelling. A cum laude graduate in Modern History, he likes to say his career began the day a professor “forgot” to put his name on a PhD scholarship list — forcing him to embrace his destiny as a “barroom historian.” Since then, Damini has become one of Italy’s freshest and most popular history communicators. He hosts the long-running radio segment Guido nella storia (“Guido in History”) on Radio Deejay, one of Italy’s top stations, and is the creator and voice of two hit podcasts for OnePodcast — Le Caporetto degli altri (“Other People’s Disasters”) and Cenni storici per fare lo splendido (“Historical Notes to Show Off”), now in its fourth season. He also tours theaters across Italy with his one-man show The Entire History of Humanity in 90 Minutes. Quasi sapiens (“Almost Sapiens”) is his first — and, by his own admission, delightfully reckless — book.
